I incorporate environmental sustainability and cultural sensitivities as the touchstone of my work. Having run a successful destination management company focused on the Caribbean and Latin America, I provide clients with first-hand expertise in strategies for realizing the same success in their own businesses. I am a frequent speaker on critical issues facing the industry, such as environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and adapting to global cultures, and am a frequent presenter at industry conferences.

For nearly 30 years, Rachael’s passion has been creating holistic and sustainable event experiences, motivating people to be the best versions of themselves while caring for the environment. As General Manager, Environmental Strategy and the subject matter expert on Wellbeing Design, Riggs is responsible for Maritz, LLC. corporate sustainability (ESG) reporting and compliance. Additionally, Riggs co – created a carbon footprint measurement tool that measures the footprint of an event. With this tool, Riggs works with clients to provides design insights to lessen the impact of an event. Riggs also works with clients to design event experiences that care for the whole person and so they can perform at their peak. Rachael is the recipient of awards from the Events Industry Council, Professional Convention Management Association, and Smart Meetings Magazine. She currently serves on the Events Industry Council APEX Commission leading the Wellbeing Working Group, Global Wellness Institutes’ Workplace Wellbeing Working Group, and the Net Zero Carbon Events Standards of Measurement Working Group. A life-long fitness enthusiast and advocate, she has 5 half-marathons and a triathlon to her credit. Rachael resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Scaletta has successfully steered her career track tourism and hospitality. Scaletta’s accelerated career can be traced back to the early 1990’s where she has worked in management and leadership positions in the hospitality and incentive industry. She immediately demonstrated a deep grasp of planning, budgeting, brand positioning, policies, processes, innovation and management of people, and profit. She earned respect as a rising leader whose commitment and passion provided insight to development of strong business strategies. Her sustainability achievements include: • Recognized by MeetingsNet’s annual Changemaker list in the top 20 outstanding meetings professionals • Recognized by Meeting Professional (MPI) for “A Passion for Sustainability” (on front cover – August 2019) • Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification in Sustainable Tourism. • Speaker on sustainability at several conferences • Written several articles on sustainability As a leader and mentor, Scaletta sits on the SITE Sustainability Committee supporting SITE’s worldwide chapters in running sustainable travel programmes. Born in Pamplona (Spain) in 1979. He holds a degree in Law from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid. Joined Meliá Hotels International in 2012 after more than 10 years of experience in strategy consulting. He has led and participated in strategy, organization, logistics, process improvement, training, sales and marketing and sustainability projects in sectors such as petrochemicals, technology, automotive, pulp & paper, retail, consumer goods, travel, leisure and hospitality. Tomás is a member of the Spanish Association of CSR Executives (DIRSE), collaborates with several universities and is a regular speaker at forums on CSR, Sustainability and Tourism.
